My brother worked in the railways, and he told me of a job opening. “Listen, it is a dirty job. You’ll have to lift heavy loads.” And I was up for it! They made wheel parts and did wheel maintenance, and I started enjoying working with iron, using a torch, a drilling machine, folding and cutting plates, welding. I never thought I’d have a job like this. There are people who say working on the railways is hard, that it is a man’s job. But it isn’t.
