Xica S.
Once, I was called during an event: “Xica, someone wants to talk to you.” I walked over and there was a line of very chic black men and women. “We came to meet you because we saw your interview on the television.” One of them was Maria, who had become depressed after her son had been killed. When she saw me on TV, she said: “I am going there to meet this woman, and I’m going to ask her how she got out.” Today she sells homemade food she makes with her mom. Just like I mirrored myself on Ana Maria Braga, she mirrored herself on me.
